How V4 Wood Flooring Became a Brand People Remember

A fourth-generation family business with deep roots in craftsmanship needed to evolve from trade-only to a brand consumers could connect with. This complete rebrand transformed V4 Wood Flooring into a nationwide name built on heritage, sustainability, and design.

The Challenge

V4 had a strong trade reputation but needed a consumer-facing brand that would stand out in retail, connect emotionally with customers, and reinforce its heritage.

Reframing the Name

The original name, V4 Woodflooring, lacked clarity. Reframed as V4 Wood Flooring, the new name became clear, balanced, and easy to recognise. Trademarking V4 allowed flexibility for the future. The name was also tied to the family’s four generations of flooring expertise, giving it depth and meaning.

Logo Redesign

The old logo combined a “V” and “4” in maroon and gold squares, limiting its flexibility. The new design kept the square and serif elements but introduced a natural copper-bronze tone and a cleaner, timeless look. It works as V4 alone or with Wood Flooring. The design also inspired the three-dimensional illuminated V4 Cube in the showroom.

Brand Story & Messaging

The brand message focused on sustainability, responsible sourcing, and the natural beauty of wood. The strapline Bring Nature Inside highlighted the emotional connection to interiors and guided all future communications.

Brand Launch & Film

The launch included a short animated film by award-winning animator Effie Pappa. The animation visualised Bring Nature Inside, giving the brand a creative, human tone and attracting designers and influencers.

The Cube Awards

The Cube Awards were created to celebrate the launch of the brand and the showroom. Annual awards recognise outstanding design projects featuring V4 Wood Floors. Custom Cube trophies were presented by celebrity designers such George Clarke and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to highlight innovation and craftsmanship, building long-term relationships with designers and architects.

Full Brand Rollout

The identity was rolled out across every touchpoint to create a consistent experience:
• Website and digital platforms
• Brochures and printed catalogues
• Showroom and retail design
• Vehicle livery and delivery packaging
• Sample boxes and display stands
• Social media and advertising

Every element reflected the same design language, tone, and attention to craft.

The Result

The rebrand transformed V4 into one of the UK’s most recognisable wood flooring brands. Heritage, craftsmanship, and sustainability are communicated consistently across all marketing, the showroom, retail environments, and events. The Surrey Design Centre is now one of the largest flooring showrooms in the UK, anchored by the illuminated V4 Cube.
